Per Allen (2016), while the digital age brought larger and more detailed computer generated effects, they are no less intricate and difficult to bring to life than optical effects were; and that with each advancement in technology it narrows the field into even more specific areas of expertise. The visual effects of the wizards doing spell work is incredible, with just a wave of their wands an entire wall was put back together perfectly within seconds; somehow the glass, wood, and bricks knew exactly where they belonged. One can only imagine the difficulty apparition, which is the fastest and most convenient way to travel if you are a wizard, where they seem to implode and then pop back to normal in a completely different location. The astounding details they put into all the beasts is magical, the Thunderbird is a prime example of the skill these animators possess; this creature was not only gigantic and sporting three sets of wings, the amount of detail in the feathers alone is miraculous. Each feather is a variety of different shades of beige with golden zebra-like stripes which can only be seen when the light hits its feathers from certain angles. Even the little Niffler was expertly created, as each strand of fur can be seen, and its coat moved seamlessly with the rest of the Chihuahua …show more content…
They do mention the names of a few wizards that the more die-hard fans may recognize. This is the first installment in this series, the next is due to be out some time in 2018 (so excited!), and the people behind the movie have set the bar quite high. Since American fans now know why their Hogwarts letters did not arrive, since they live in the wrong country to get one, fans can now begin to wonder where their Ilvermorny acceptance letters are and why those did not come. This movie covers an entire spectrum of emotions, laughter and tears, while keeping the audience in captured in this world of magic. With an entirely new cast of characters to get to know, along with plenty of new magical creatures (a few whom are native to America), expertly created at the hands of special effects craftsmen and women, and a completely new theme story wise, this movie is truly a must

In 1997, J. K. Rowling’s first of seven books in the Harry Potter series was released. The book quickly became a best-selling phenomenon and so did it’s successors as most young adult readers found themselves hooked and simply couldn’t get enough of Harry Potter. Although the series became highly popular, it also brought wide-spread controversy with some parents and teachers who were under the impression that the book promoted the occult, witchcraft, and evil. This perception led to attempts to ban the book series from many schools and libraries. Contrarily, the Harry Potter series should not be banned because it provides lessons on moral values, promotes a healthy mind, it facilitates creativity.…

For reasons that defy logic, movie studios continuously attempt to build around the foundation of film classics. Take The Wizard of Oz for example – which in the last 3 years alone has garnered a prequel (Oz the Great and Powerful) and a sequel (Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return). And as you might expect, neither of those productions was able to fully harness the admiration and energy established by the 1939 classic. Sure, there’s plenty of other examples to use, as well – like virtually any sub-par Disney sequel that went straight to video, like Bambi II or The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride.…

Once Upon a Time are the beginning words used to signify a fairytale, while a traditional musical begins with an opening number. Beauty and the Beast is such a Disney fairytale, complete with the opening lines of a fairytale, musical numbers, dances, and a happy ending for the romantic couple. The musical follows Belle, a young French maiden, as she winds up in the castle of a cursed Beast, where the two find true love and break the curse. Of course, the show is complex in its unfolding story and intricate cast of characters that journey alongside the main couple, adding to the elements of a true Disney fairytale. The musical Chicago, however, begins with the number “All That Jazz” and showcases a jazzy style compared to the romantic fairytale.…

When Voldemort disappears, hundreds of owls are seeing flying in daylight. Although an owl is a real animal, it is how the owls are displayed in the novel that adds to the fantasy theme. Other types of creatures only found in the magical world are unicorns, sacred beings found in the Forbidden Forest, and dragons. Dragons are seen in Rowling’s novel when Hagrid hatches one in his hut and they are also rumoured to guard high-security vaults in Gringotts bank.
