Along with the bachelor’s degrees, they must also earn their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, after 4-years. Some DVM programs have concentrated studies as well and exotic veterinarian hospitals offer residency programs for these interested in specializing in the field. Most vets are required to obtain a state licensure to be eligible to practice medicine on domestic, farm, and exotic animals. Though all necessitate DVM degree and a passing score on the North American Licensing Exam, some federal and state laws oblige a licensure for keeping, transporting, selling, or exhibiting animals. To work in zoos, it is required that you have all the undergraduate education, a DVM degree, state licensing, complete a one year internship with working with exotic animals, future veterinarians must complete a residency program lasting 3 to 4 years, and lastly there is the option of being certified in zoological medicine. Veterinarian colleges that offer exotic vet programs in the United States are the University of Illinois, Kansas State University, Louisiana State University, Michigan State University, Oklahoma State University Center, and Washing State

This demonstrates to the clients from the beginning that they will be respected and their concerns heard (R. Shaw, 2006).…

Taking care of my pets has been an irreplaceable experience, and I hope to help form similar relationships. Other types of veterinarians focus on research, foreign diseases, and the protection of our food supply.
