I was working a midnight shift at the entry control point with my partner on Security 12, patrolling the F-4 ramp, conducting a 100 percent hands-on “Restricted Area Badge” check. Anyone requiring access to any restricted area had to display the proper credentials prior to gaining access. During random points in our shift we were directed to conduct checks to ensure only authorized personnel gained access to these areas.
