Exhaust Specialist Case Study

Decent Essays
Thank you for your application to All-American Automobiles. It was a pleasure to meet you and discuss the Engine Mechanic Specialist position. I was especially impressed by your in depth knowledge of diesel turbo chargers, and especially your enthusiasm at the prospect of running multiple turbo chargers in tandem.
However, we do not get many jobs that require a diesel mechanic and so will be unable to offer you this position. Because of your extensive knowledge of forced induction systems, I do encourage you apply for the position of Exhaust Specialist, which we plan to be hiring in the next two months. It is also possible that at some point in the future we will require a diesel mechanic, so I would encourage you to reapply in the future.

Diesel engine The diesel engine (also known as a compression-ignition engine) is an internal combustion engine that uses the compression to initiate ignition and burn the fuel that has been injected into the combustion chamber. This contrasts with spark-ignition engines such as a petrol engine (gasoline engine) or gas engine (using a gaseous fuel as opposed to gasoline), which use a spark plug to ignite an air-fuel mixture. The diesel engines have the highest thermal efficiency in any internal or external combustion engine because of its very high compression ratio. The low-speed diesel engines that are used in ships and in other applications where the engine weight is unimportant and can have a thermal efficiency of 50%.…
