Have you ever went to the doctor and been diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, heart disease or maybe they told you that you are overweight and asked how often do you exercise? These conditions are all indicative of a sedentary lifestyle. What if the same doctor informed you that there was a fountain of youth that’s been known to slow down or reverse all these conditions? Your first response would be there is no such thing, then he clarifies that the fountain doesn’t reverse your age in the traditional sense, but it attacks the conditions you suffer from, resulting in a youthful and vibrant feeling. Then he drops the bombshell on you, busting your 20 burger eating bubble that exercise is the fountain he is …show more content…
But dieting alone will not produce the same results. There will be and initial loss of weight through less calorie intake which is common. But without exercise the body will start to use protein for energy. The effects on your body are depression, fatigue, and loss of muscle mass. Nevertheless, if for some reason a person is unable to exercise then of course healthy eating should be there first priority, but once they are able to exercise, the benefits of physical activity far outweigh the benefits of dietary changes alone.
I feel physical activity is the fountain of youth. Through exercising you are able to turn back the clock on the way your body feels, looks and operates. I have listed numerous illnesses and aliments that are a direct result of physical inactivity and they have been proven to be correctable with at least 30 minutes a day 3 days a week of physical activity. Unfortunately, you cannot achieve those results with only dietary changes. You will gain some benefit from healthy eating initially, but nothing takes of the years like a strong commitment to stay physically active throughout your
