Researchers hypothesize, the quality of an individual’s experience, directly alters effect their commitment, and focus. Whereas, a positive experience will encourage this new exercise program, creating a positive health habit. Albeit, if an individual has a negative experience while developing a new exercise regimen, they are likely to drop this exercise intervention. However, identifying the experiences and their effect remains unclear, as there is no definitive action and reaction to the experience. The complexities of human nature make it very difficult to predict the effects that events will have on individuals. Self-determination theory (STD) assumes that individuals aspire to be active entities, remaining active and in control of their destiny (Ryan, Huta, & Deci, 2013). The reaction to events stimulate emotions, individuals create or circumvent satisfaction, of three core psychological values, relatedness, autonomy, and competence (Kerkelä, Jonsson, Lindwall, & Strand, 2015). Autonomy affords individuals with freewill, and emotional freedom. It is human nature to strive for self-confidence, to competently function when called to action.
