Potential Vice-President of the Class of 2018 As stated by John C. Maxwell, “A leader is on who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” Through my vice-presidency during my sophomore year in high school, multiple band leadership roles, and experience with assisting children during Vacation Bible School as a group leader for various summers, I have become a skilled leader. Additionally, I tend to be known as the kind of student who is looked up to by many due to my high grades, my caring personality, my determination, and my ability to follow instructions. Although there is always room for improvement for all individuals, my ability to aid others through the road to success and my characteristics of an exemplar student make me an excellent

Beyond dedication and efficiently completing the tasks required of me, my personal initiative to strive for greater feats is a quality that is essential in a President, whose duties do not rely on delegated tasks from another individual. In addition, my previous experiences leading other organizations and communicating with influential members within OCSA’s administrative body has allowed me to gain the qualities of a qualified candidate. This past fall semester, I worked with the administration to assist the counselors in volunteering at and planning for Freshman Retreat. I received this opportunity as my past position as President of Heart-2-Heart, a student lead club that formerly organized the retreats. This experience allowed me to gain proficiency communicating with administration and executing ideas in a timely manner, which are essential characteristics for an NHS President to possess.…

Strictly speaking, I never really be a leader. I personally didn’t have many opportunities or the desire to be a leader. This is about my personality, but I do want to push myself a little and have some experiences before I start my career. The closest title that I ever had as a leader was the Vice President of service for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) in my previous college. When I was offered the opportunity, I knew I had to take the responsibility because I thought that could be my first time being a leader.…

Leaders are not born but made is a motto that I like to live my life by. Every day of our lives we are given opportunities to rise up and better ourselves through leading others. A way I have been taught to be a leader this year is through a program at my school Edmond Memorial called Bulldog Mentors. Any junior or senior may sign up and donate their free time to mentor a group of freshmen at our school; we are given lessons most Fridays and we teach the underclassman instructions to help lessen their burdens for the rest of their high school years.…

I was not aware of how much I was actually going to get out of the conference. Through the elective workshops, I learned much more about my leadership style and who I could become as a leader. Through the speakers, I learned about the power of creating a vision and pursuing with unyielding faith.…
