Exemplar Nurse Scholarship Essay

As a young child, I knew that I wanted to make a positive impact in the lives of the people who were in pain or in need. All my life I’ve looked up to nurses due to them being figures of compassion, diligence, and kindness. I understand that to become a Nurse, one must go through rigorous courses in order to fulfill the role of an exemplar nurse.
Throughout my life, I’ve challenged myself in order to excel academically due to the high standards my mother had set for me as I grew up. While other students were focused on affairs outside of school, I put in the hard work in order to take higher level courses, such as Geometry, while I was still in middle school. Now as a high school senior, I have experienced how demanding courses can become through the ten college classes I’ve taken already. Through these courses, I’ve learned about proper time management, taking initiative, and remaining diligent. Coming from a low income, single parent, Mexican household has always motivated me to not only do well at school, but also to help those within my community. As someone who has faced adversity, I’m aware that other young students have faced similar struggles that I faced growing up, this is why I am motivated to rise above my given circumstances and become a Registered Nurse in the future. I hope that through my achievements, I’ll be able to become a role model for other young people to show that through hard work and dedication you can achieve anything you set out to do, regardless of what your aspirations may
