Exegetical Paper On Isaiah 50

The first passage for this week was Isaiah 50:4-7. This talks about pushing through hard times, and while doing that using God as your light. When something hard is happening in my life I tell myself that this means it is time for me to turn to God. It’s time to ask him what to do because his opinion is really the only one that matters and it is the best opinion. It is also very important to always follow God’s plan and what he has ahead for you because he has a individual one for each of us. In my life I try to remember and tell myself that the best thing to do is to ask God for help whenever when I feel like giving up on him during hard times. The next passage was Matthew 26-27. This speaks to me about how Jesus gave up so much for us so

Even in the midst of shock and disbelief they needed a visible reminder of God’s presence. There were no words to fix or even begin to explain the horror of their grief but my mere presence helped to point them to God’s never-failing love and presence in the midst of the worst day of their lives. When I returned home from that emotionally and spiritually exhausting visit, I immediately walked the prayer labyrinth in my backyard. As I walked and foolishly prayed for the “right words to say”. God reminded me (with a fat raindrop to the top of my head) that I was not alone, the family was not alone; God was present with us in the tears, grief and the subsequent anger and doubt after a loss of a young life filled with so much potential.…

Servant Leadership I was reading from Oswald Chambers as a small part of my devotional hour recently and read the following which just leaped off the page at me. John 13:13 Ye call Me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am The curious thing about Our Lord is that He never insists on our obedience. When we begin to usurp authority and say “You must” and “you shall” it is a sure sign that we are out of touch with the supreme Authority.…

The Gospels of The New Oxford Annotated Bible aim to tell of the life of Jesus Christ. The authors build the narratives around the Father-Son relationship of God and Jesus because of how much of an impact God’s sacrifice has on Jesus’ ministry. “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” (John 3:16). Throughout the book of John, Jesus repeatedly says that he is the Son of God, the Son of Man, and God. If Jesus is both the Son of God and God, then it follows that God himself is the Son of Man as well.…

When you walk into a church you may realize that there are serval paintings, but what you may have not noticed is their significance. If you look at each painting closely you may notice that they tell a story. The Nativity with the Prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel is a piece of art history which uses iconography and religion to create a narrative. The Nativity is not only a piece of art, but it also is an altarpiece. Since an altar is where offerings for a church are held, the images that appeared on the altarpiece carry the most significance.…

What is a biblical truth from the passage that ministered to you? Explain. Chuck Smith stated, “ Hey, if your load is so heavy you can’t carry it, I have to assume that you have taken on yourself something that God never put on you.” This was a great reminder to me, because although I know that God’s burden is light, so often I selfishly carry burdens that are not from the Lord. One of the reasons I do this is because I struggle with feeling unworthy, and I justify it in my mind that somehow if I try and carry burdens in my life I can help “pay” back the debt I owed, even though I know I cannot.…
