Good morning everyone,

Hope your all well, and a big welcome to Ruth who is now on the mailing list.

Paul and I have a working draft of the budget numbers, we will spend time this week reviewing them and seeing what needs to be changed.

Most elements of the business plan are drafted, I aim to have this ready to present at the next board meeting seeking endorsement from yourselves on what I put together.

Discussion with 86 Mollison Street and the rental of this property have advanced, I have spoken to and met the landlord and outlined the vision for the Social Foundry. We have also been having discussion with the staff at Moto Bean in Malmsbury regarding a joint occupation of the premises and how both parties can share the costs effectively.

One of the obstacles I have been faced is a lot of the larger grant funders ar wanting one or several years of financial histories plus proven results and outcome by the social enterprise. Due to the short time of our existence we simply don't have that information at this time. One way of working around this is by participating in joint funding proposals with more established not for profits. I will be spending more time exploring joint grant proposal with different service providers in the region. We are focusing on three different funds right now, they …show more content…

6k from the MRSC, they have a new fund opening on the 1st of April. I have been communicating with the main contact of this fund Kylie Lethbridge, I just need to decide for what cost we apply for. 10k from the ACFE training fund. This will be applied for by the KC&LC, the amount they will be seeking is $50k in total. The allocation of training support I am asking for SF participants in 10k. This will cover the costs of numeracy and literacy assessment and training, first aid training, responsible food handling and job placement assistance. This will be a joint proposal. 2.5k of rates assistance from the MRSC, I have been speaking to Leanne Davey (Business Development Coordinator) - if a business employs five or more people in the region. Eligible businesses can apply to have the rates of a premises reduced, this will form a part of the proposal to PRD Kyneton
