Illusionary conjunction happens when people put together different parts of objects to form a new one. This may occur in the real world when a person is trying to recall information about a car accident they witnessed- it is possible they will remember the make of the car but say the color of the car is red if the driver was wearing a red shirt. However, this does not happen very often in the real world because often times when people are asked to remember something specific they pay extra careful attention to it, which reduces the percentage that they misremember
