The 8th amendment states that excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted , which means that this amendment is protecting Americans against excessive punishments. So if these punishments are cruel and unusual which again are against the 8th amendment in the constitution and excessive force is the violation of a person's constitutional rights , which is illegal. Shouldn’t more cops who abuse their power as an officer and ensures police brutality be locked behind bars. It wasn’t okay during the civil rights movement when you could see your friends and family on television being beaten and sprayed with water like animals and just like then the media created this image of African Americans being a threat to society which may be the reason why history seems to constantly repeat itself because there has always been a attitude towards men of color and slavery and race separation shows that so as you can see that whole scenario is occurring today , it may not be exact but it is being mimicked in today's society. Not only does the media’s negative deception of the public contribute to police brutality but covering of the law also contributes to this problem. By covering of the law I mean finding ways to get out of the crime that they just committed. There has been to many cases that involve
