Have you ever thought about what makes America special? Or even why America is special to you? Because I have, and there are so many things that make it special. America is a freedom filled nation, and under the power of the government and God, we can do whatever we set our minds to. America believes in equality, equality of race, gender, and sexuality. Letting people express themselves and letting them be who they want to be. Last but not least, America knows sacrifice. We have sacrificed so many things to keep this country the way it is today.
America is the land of the free, because of the brave. It’s unique because it is a free nation. We as a country have a standard of freedom. Ron Paul once said, “You don't have freedom because you are an “American”; you have freedom because you are an individual, and that should be protected.” As an individual, as a human being, we have the freedom to speak our mind, to have an opinion. We as a country believe that everyone is equal, no matter their background, their race, their gender, their sexuality, their age, or if they have any disabilities. I agree with Barack Obama, who once said “I see Americans of every party, every background, every faith who believe that we are stronger together: black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American; young, old; gay, straight; men, women, folks with disabilities, all pledging allegiance under the same proud flag to this big, bold country that we love. That's what I see. That's the America I know!” It shows that not just the citizens believe in equality, but the government and higher authorities do as well. It shows that no matter who you are, or what you’ve done, you are equal, you have the same rights as anyone else
