I’m a fist generation college student, and earned my associates in arts from Longview Community College, and will attend the University of…

I am not going to describe your organization and relate my personal attributes to your values to prove that is why I deserve your scholarship. Perhaps I do not deserve your scholarship, but I am going to try my hardest to convince you otherwise.…

I believe that academics will be a positive addition to my recovery, allowing me to expand my mind and giving me the opportunity to be successful through my education, ultimately enhancing my recovery by teaching me life skills to help maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. One factor that remains constant in both recovery and academics is the commitment, and I feel that incorporating my recovery skills into my academics will eventually allow me to finish my academic career. Before I was introduced to recovery, I had no sense of urgency or priority in my life whatsoever. I believe that this is a strong reason why I failed at my first college attempt. I let academics fall back on the list of importance in my life, and eventually, I was not able to make up for this…

When I turned eleven, rheumatoid arthritis wreaked havoc on my hands, with medications that did the same to my liver. It arched my fingers backwards and killed my ability to play piano as I had done for six years prior. In only a few months, it took away my predominant method of musical expression, the pain and deformity forcing me to quit practicing altogether. Initially upset, I reached for the nearest option to continue my engagement in music: choir. I had been a part of the school’s chorus since third grade, but with the loss of my piano playing, I needed to renew my dedication to singing.…

If I had to have ten reasons why I should get this college scholarship I would is that for one i think that I should get this scholarship because I am very hardworking and I take time at what I do. Second I would say that everyone deserves at least one chance to prove to prove themselves to someone so that I could get a better education. Also that would go for the rest of the reasons because I think that if you really work hard and really try to get an education that you might have a better chance at getting a scholarship with a good education and transcript.
