Transcendentalism is the belief that the whole universe lives inside you, and that intuitive thought is the primary form of knowledge. There is five tenets of transcendentalism which are free thought, confidence, non-conformity, self-reliance and nature. The source I chose to read about that has some examples of the five tenets of transcendentalism is a poem called “After School Special” by Suzy Kassem which is about Suzy writing a letter to her elementary school teacher Mr. Schneider. She writes about how her days at school were like and her opinion on the education she got from his teaching.
