Protest movements can be any size and fail, or succeed; size is not an important factor, at least not in the beginning. The Civil Rights Movement is an ideal example of a successful movement, using patience, organization, planning, and determination. Gaining support is also a crucial step, which can be accomplished in multiple ways. There are countless examples of successful and unsuccessful protest movements. It is important to understand the factors that determine which category it will fall into, because protest movements are arguably the best way to accomplish change without violence. Works Cited
