A stereotype is an image or idea that people have towards something or group of people that the idea is commonly wrong. A stereotype would be that girls are not good at sports. This is a just Hypothesis from girls and all the people think that it’s true; girls are not good at sports. If some girls are not good at sports it doesn’t mean that whole population are not good at sport and there is so many girls that they are so smart at sports.

The voice-over shows that how Jessica is stereotyped being a ‘tiger mom’ as she was so strict on her children academic as the scene where Eddie, ask her to start school from start of the week not in the middle of the week and she replied her that he have to go to school to achieve best numbers and earn more money in future. Moreover, flashback shows Jessica’s haggling skills when buying groceries in the Chinese central market. This stereotype demonstrates that Asians are known to bargain prices. At the central market she was trying to bargains the prices that she bought and also at that time she was yelling to get the eggplant that she already took and someone else was trying to take it from her hand but she yelled at her. Additionally, close up on Louis’s face after he nodded his head and smiled was to emphasize the audience about the stereotype that Asian does not understand anything and the only response that they would give you is just smiling and nodding. The language dialogue, also play an important role to portray stereotype. For the dialogue, accents of Jessica and louis that show stereotypes of how Asian speak, because when they was talking English they still had accent of Asian people. The effects of stereotypes in everyday life are depression and loneliness, when you hear form someone something that they are stereotyping you. The impact can a stereotype have on people are shame, impatience and depression. These can change the behaviour and reduce from talking to other and so many others affect that can change the
