Animal Farm is like a satire as in the book, George Orwell talks and mocks the theme of power of how absolute power corrupts absolute. Orwell substitutes animals for humans, so the major concepts of communism can be played out on the farm. Communism is meant to be a classless society which is similar to Animalism in Animal Farm as all animals are equal. However he mocks the Russian Revolution which like in Animal farm is the Revolution that results in new leaders, but the same kind of tyrants. Snowball and Napoleon battling for control of the farm, as they both want to be the leader because they know that the leader has the most privileges. Which is why Animal Farm is a satire. Less power should be given to the leader, so that the leader and his followers can be more equal. If a group or an individual obtains power, it is impossible to manage it correctly. The Seven Commandments or rules of Animalism was a rule that animals had to follow and started out simplified so that everybody on the farm can remember and follow them, but changed over time throughout the book to reflect the tyranny of the pigs and dogs. The poems and songs are all way that make the workers more and more dependent on the pig for who they are. The other animals in the farm like those that are not the pigs, are the “Common People” as they all work for the upper class just like the lower class people in Russia during after the revolution.
