Juliet is a beautiful kind young girl who matures quickly throughout the play. Romeo is a loving yet daring young man whose immaturity creates some of the climactic points during this play. Juliet's maturity combined with romeo's immaturity is the start for their demise. At the start of the play, Juliet is introduced as a young (almost 14 years old) innocent girl. She ends up as a women in love with an opinion of her own. She goes through several stages of being a child,being in love,becoming a wife , being deceived and being a widow in short periode of time.

Juliet matures quickly throughout the play due to a series of events. Romeo on the other hand, not so much. In my opinion romeo’s maturity level does not change. He has the inability to think before he acts. In act 3, scene

For example, when Lady Capulet brings up the idea of marrying Paris, Juliet responds with “i’ll look to like, if liking is not moving”. This shows she is obedient and has not experienced what true love is or feels like. During the balcony scene juliet says “O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father or refuse thy name Or if they wilt not, be sworn my love And i’ll be no longer a Capulet!” This scene gives the impression that the couple are so in love that Juliet can take a mature approach to Romeo being a montague. She strongly believes that Romeo is not her enemy, Montague is, “Tis but a name that is my enemy”. This shows that she loves Romeo more than she respects her parents and says that she will change her family name if it allows her to be with him. She is prepared to take responsibility and proposes marriage. “If that thy love be honourable. Thy propose marriage, send me word tomorrow”. This shows a self-motivated side of Juliet and we can see that she has already changed from the shy polite juliet that we first met to daring, independant women in
