Mr. Propst:

In response to your letter of Reprimand and Final Warning concerning the incident mentioned in the letter dated February 20, 2017. I totally rebutt and disagree with the action taken and the letter of reprimand. As I stated to my direct administrator and to you, Mr. Probst, I did not call the student “the scum of the earth” as the student accused me of doing. I would never call a student anything so derogatory or hurtful. I did state I was disappointed in the decisions he made and believed he could make better decisions in the future in regards to an altercation on our school campus that this student was involved in and was cited to court over. I reprimanded the student for unacceptable behavior toward another child and shared that I thought he would make better decisions in the future. I shared that I had just written a

I have been recognized by my colleagues, staff, and system as a teacher of the year. I have had many of my students (retired military, retired policemen, college graduates, and undergraduates) return and thank me what I have given in my classroom over the years to others. I have led students out of state on science trips in which parents have entrusted me with their child’s welfare for extended periods of time, I have been chosen several times to participate in North Carolina Teacher Institutes from applicants throughout our state. I have written and received grants from various sponsors over the years. I have been a supportive, professional, contributing colleague to the Carteret County School System for numerous years. If one thirteen year old can make untrue statements and bring about this type of response and actions, it is a sad state of affairs for both our educational system and the future of education in our nation. This student twisted my words, represented me in a totally dishonest way, and was successful in getting what he

He went on for a bit on how he would look at the student differently and then said “unless you want to forget about this”. This seemed like a personal threat to the student with grading and the general relationship with Reshetov. We found this extremely inappropriate, especially due to the fact that the student had already explained to his authority that her “disrespect” was not intentional and apologized for the way she came across. We understand that students can be disrespectful, and that should never be tolerated, but this was an extreme reaction to a student whose intent was not to be uncivil or ill-mannered. We are very scared that something that we might say could be misinterpreted and cause him to look at us in a negative way.…

With the acceptance as a Federally funded university, Lee had to conform to the requirements held by the State of Tennessee. This was done after much prayer and decision making, yet by adopting the current policies, Lee could further the spreading of the gospel. Back then, there was mandatory dress codes, zero tolerance for unchristian behavior, and an underlying fear amongst all students that these behaviors would be severely dealt with.…

Per my discussion with Mr. Brown, I shared the following: • The situation observed by a Meramec parent, handled by a Meramec teacher, Mrs. Karen Finder, was previously investigated and addressed. • While the parent observed only your son's interaction with one other student, there was another student also involved in what transpired. • This other student has teased and taunted the student you identified as bullying your son during class, continuing to tease and taunt as they were leaving the building.…

A blank can be defined in various ways. It can be defined as a situation, belief, or idea that reduces people to nothing more than inferior objects. I have been a blank space only a few times in my life. All of these experiences resulted in personal growth and maturity .Similar to the perceptions of condescending individuals who deemed minorities of African descent as inferior in Heart of Darkness and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. At Camp A, I was reduced from an individual to a caricature of an African American with amoral values because of faulty reasoning and stereotypes.…

Historically, women have had a disadvantage compared to their male peers. Until the 1920s, women did not wear pants, nor could they vote. Society has come far since then, women can now practically do anything a man can (vote, own land, join the army, make decisions), however, they are still believed to be inferior. To state this in similar terms, look at sports. Women don’t play football, and those sport that have female leagues, do not get close to the amount of attention as similar male sports do (Basketball, Softball).…
