There are many arguments concerning racism in Disney movies such as “The Princess and the Frog”. Some consider the movie a racist Disney movie, where others insist that it is not racist since in this movie, the princess is Disney’s first black princess. Tiana was the first black princess, and it was a huge step forward for Disney. Some thought that Walt was representing people of different background and skin colors. However to others, the movie was basically a racist Disney movie. Sarita McCoy state that the movie is not racist since it is Disney’s first black princess, whereas people like Cheryl Lynn consider this movie to be a racist Disney movie. Personally, I view the movie Princess and the frog to be a racist movie.

As well as, another remark that shows the racism of Disney in the movie Princess and the Frog is the fact that the witch curse has masks that look like African-American masks. This emphasizes the magical element or the spookiness of African-American people. This can be viewed as a racist act in the movie. Another main fact that shows the racism in the movie Princess and the Frog is the skin color of the prince in the movie. The prince in the movie was white and not black. The fact that the prince casted was white suggests that black love should not be shown on television and that it is not possible. It also questions the fact whether a black man can ever be a prince. If a black man could be prince, then why wasn’t the prince casted for the movie Princess and the frog black? Tiana is not a princess by birth but she becomes a princess by marrying a prince. Where other Disney white princesses, which were princesses by birth. Tiana, being an African-American didn’t show African-American traits. She wasn’t as dark as African-American are and her hair wasn’t typical of African-American societies. Princesses usually
