Minorities in the U.S. are criticized more by society because of the melatonin in the skin and how they look. It is crazy to think the world we live in today is still racist all over. You see it in the news on television and in movies as well. You also see it in the work place and that is beyond ludicrous. Minorities are prone to more discrimination when it comes to job opportunities. They do not get the same chances as the majority of America and end up with lower paying jobs, which lead them to poorer neighborhoods. It happens everywhere and in the 21st century I think we should be past that in society. It is promoted in movies as a joke to lessen the impact and make it a laughing matter instead of a big issue. It happens way before you even get to an interview by a company. They can just read the name and somehow tell that they are a minority and do not work as hard. And if you even get the chance to go to the interview you are being judge there as well. I know this has happened to plenty of people I know based on the way they spoke or the way they looked. This leads minorities to accept lowering paying jobs at the time and then probably taking on another job in the future. They also become accustom to less expensive things and become complacent at their job and may not want to try and keep applying at places.
