Common Assessment Essay Even though racial profiling is unconstitutional in America, it still exists today for different reasons. One example of racial profiling is a woman from Ohio, who is suing the FBI because she was yanked off an airplane due to her ethnicity. Her and two men were targeted as potential terrorists because of their suspicious activities and their specific skin color. There were many different organizations involved in this lawsuit that could be looked at as an iron triangle.

According to people on the plane, the two men looked suspicious when they went to the bathroom. The people then reported the activity to the flight attendants, who in turn told the pilot about the situation. The government law enforcement was then notified by the pilot and were waiting for the plane when it landed in Detroit. Law enforcement boarded the plane and told everyone to put their hands on the seats in front of them and walked over to the 3 individuals and handcuffed and detained them. Also, they had Hebshi detained for 4 hours and would not tell her “why?”, after asking numerous times. An attorney with the ACLU said, “she did nothing that was suspicious.” Bill Goodman was the attorney representing Hebshi. During her detainment, she was frightened and humiliated.
Court ruling says they can search and seize because of reasonable suspicion. Most law enforcement uses skin color as probable cause.
