Procrastination makes easy things hard and hard things harder. Many consequences arise when one procrastinates. An example of this is found through Hamlet in Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. Although Hamlet is characterized as daring, patriotic, and intelligent, he becomes overwhelmed by his own conscience and thoughts. Because of this, his tragic flaw is his inability to take action. Hamlet’s questioning “to be, or not to be”, his inability to act on his father’s murder, his mother’s marriage, and his uncle taking the throne are all evidence of his tragic flaw of procrastination (3.1.56).
