Humans are very un-accepting of differences in other humans or beings. People tend to be very prejudice against anybody who might look, seem, or act different than them. In the novel Frankenstein, the being created by Victor exceeds horrors beyond anybody’s imagination in his looks. He does not have evil morals or intentions to begin with, but in the end people’s prejudice causes him to become a monster that exceeds the imagination. This being that was created came to be by a human hand. At the hands of Victor Frankenstein, this horrifyingly ugly being was created through a series of experiments and many thought processes. When Victor created the being, he did not think about the affect his experiment would have on mankind, nor did he consider that this being might have feelings, and need care. In the beginning, the being was harmless. He did not know how to do anything except walk and run at nonhuman speeds. As time went on …show more content…
This is the exact affect that it had on the being. He learned how to talk, read, be compassionate, and help others, but nobody was ever going to be compassionate or helpful to him. They took simply one look at him and decided that he must be a horrible, awful thing. When he tried to approach people, they ran from him screaming, or tried to beat him to death. Over time this wore on the being. He became angrier and angrier, cursing his very existence. At one point, he saw his reflection in some water and because of his miserable existence he cursed the day that he came to life. The being knew that he looked ferocious and terrifying, but he wanted to be given a chance. He wanted somebody to look at him and not run terrified. However, this was too much to ask. He did not even get the chance to convince a blind man that he was harmless before he was nearly beaten to death and had to run into hiding.
