Rapidly becoming a bigger problem, the blind are feeling that they are not being treated equally especially when it comes to being on public transport. The blind believe that they should be treated not only like a regular person but also must feel safe and comfortable while riding public transport and not feel like they are going to be treated differently because of their disability. People complain that females and certain races aren't treated equal but you never hear about the disabled.Their Voices are never heard from a global perspective. Many things must be changed to give them what they deserve. All public transport must have the blue seats installed to have that vehicle in use. The city of Toronto says that all busses will eventually have these seats, but it will take over two years to have them installed (Toronto Transit Comission). What many people don't realize is that this is too long. There is already an uprising problem in the city when it comes to the disabled and spanning this over the next two years could just make it worse. Also another problem arises with these blue seat though. Giving up these seats is not a mandatory action. Not only does the bus drivers not take the initiative to get these selfish people to move, the city of Toronto states that the bus driver should not get involved with any of the riders when a problem like this occurs(Toronto Transit Comission). I couldn't agree more with the fact that anyone should have the privilege of sitting on these seats, but I also think that it should be mandatory to give them up. This “first come first serve rule” should not be active. Just like on airplanes, while boarding it's not first come first serve. It's the disabled first. They need more care getting on the plane then
