First, Mr. Clark uses his position as principal to show power and convince the students they need to pass the basic skills test or they will shut down the school. They later start a countdown so they know how much time they have left to prepare, this drives them on. This is successful because it motivates the students to push themselves and work even harder to reach that goal. Secondly, when taking to the teachers he makes more than half of them put their hands in the air. He tells them that 70% of the students failed and this will be the position they are in if they don't step up and start teaching. This is effective because it send a powerful message to the teachers that they better start taking responsibility and teach the kids. Lastly, in his final speech to the students, he says they have 1 more hour until the test and they worked hard for 100 days straight and this is their chance to prove themselves to the doubters. This is effective because he pumps them up and gets them ready for the test. This is why logos is a good method of convincing someone of doing
