The teacher let me know that she would only be going over strategies to use during the STARR test. The first thing I noticed was that the passage the students were reading was intended for fourth grade. All the students knew what they were doing and got to work right after they were given their assignment. The students did not need prompting. Differentiated Instruction as she worked in small groups and when over the passages. I also noticed that since some students worked at a different pace that they had options for enrichment through a technology component. For example, at certain points droning the lesson the teacher allowed students to leave the classroom and go to the computer lab to work on a technology project at pertained to the concept being taught.
