Introduction
According to Severinsson, (2012), leadership refers to the process of socially influencing other people through enlisting aid and support to other people in pursuant of accomplishing goals. Leadership is the process of directing goals and objectives of an organization in pursuant of success and efficiency in an organization. Moreover, Beckett (2013) posits that leadership involves the act of mobilizing people to perform a common goal. In case of corporate and organizations leadership involves efficient and collective mobilization of resources and human resource to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Also, Chang, H.et al. The challenging tasks prompts the participants to think beyond the box and this will eventually improve the skills as well as solidifying the employee commitments. Frequent in training programs and feedback will ensure that leadership skills are grown among employees and other people in relevant positions (Severinsson, 2012). In training programs equip leaders with new skills and that ultimately contributes to effectiveness of the institution. Feedbacks also help the leaders to rectify in areas that have possible loopholes and eventually improving the leadership skills and levels. Development of effective leadership in the nursing milieu is paramount because the nursing profession is among the best and most delicate job. Nursing as a profession has reached the entire world touching different areas of medicine. For instance, there, psychiatric nurses, dementia related nurses’ caregivers among other specialists. For instance, the trait theory posits that for effective leaders they must exhibit some common characteristics that will guarantee the provision of quality leadership. The theory asserts that they are innate and instinctive abilities that will help an individual to demonstrate good leadership. Some of the traits that the leaders will exhibit include empathy, integrity, decision making, assertiveness, and likability. These crucial skills will help in steering leadership in any organization.
