In his memoir, Night, Elie Wiesel wrote “I became A-7713. After that, I had no other name.” In other words, it shows how the Nazis take the Jews identity, including their names, shoes, houses, hair, and even their clothes, which means a lot to them; they treat them like they were not human beings. One would think that in this world no such things could happen, and some people out there may think that it's not going on. To them it is all a fun game. You are immediately killed if the Nazis assume that you are trying to escape or if they think that you are trying to sabotage the camp. They do not care if you are a part of it or not. They do it because you are there, just like Pipel and the two men that are accused. They are hung in front of all of the prisoners. Wiesel is accused of getting into another person's business when he accidentally saw something he should not have. The Kapos thought it was okay to humiliate him in front of the other Jews, because of this. “An ordinary prisoner has no right to meddle in other people’s affairs. One of you does not seem to have understood this. I’m obliged, therefore, to make it very clear to him for once and for all.” (65) To the Nazis, Kapos, and the SS Officers they do whatever they want. They are not the ones getting beaten, starved, burned alive, killed, or separated from their families.
