Social media show the society that black women are not powerful. When I watch a movie or a TV shows, it show how black women depend on a male for everything and they do not have a voice in the household. I remember I was little and I did not see many beauty products about black women and when a black woman was in the commercial she was always light and I felt like commercial does not show the world about dark skin women. It sad that the social media shows you, if you want to be beautiful you should be light skin and do not be dark. The stereotypes of what they say about black women and their skin color and affect their life. When I watch the news or get on Facebook, I have seen some many black young girl’s kills themselves cause of their girl. Black people always had an issue with their skin color because societies make it seem that being a dark color is a problem .This article girl name Madame Noire said “Growing up, I remember being taunted and teased for having darker skin. And I wasn’t the only one. Boys on the playground and popular kids in their recess cliques made it clear who and who wasn’t pretty and I thought I was an ugly girl. So, in my mind, the fact that I was dark chocolate didn’t help my case. All the boys I had crushes on only had eyes for the fair-skinned girls with long hair.
