A person named Dennis Prager once said “Goodness is about character - integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and the like. More than anything else, it is about how we treat other people.” Moral courage is similar to what courage mean. The difference is that moral courage is the courage to take actions for the right reasons without having fear of the consequences. The novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, have shown many examples of moral courage from many characters from the novel as the readers read on. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee has shown moral courage by showing characters taking action for the right thing and faced the consequences for their actions, but was able to tell us what kind of person they are.

That the characters of the story have to faced an adversary. It is no different for the characters from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird. One example from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird is when Atticus have to killed the mad dog. “...he wouldn’t shoot till he had to, and he had to today.” (Harper 130) It tell us that Atticus doesn’t even want to kill the dog the first place. Because he will have to take a living being life, but he have to protect his family which take courage to do. Another example is Mrs. Dubose addiction of morphine. “It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.” (Harper 149) What Atticus meant is to even though you're going to lose, you stick to your views and fighting anyway. In Mrs. Dubose’s case, she wanted to get rid of her addiction of morphine and stick to that goal even though she was going to die. In summary, conflict helped the characters to do what they think it is the right thing to able to solve the
