Marriage in Rosemary’s Baby What is marriage? Marriage is when two people have been with each other for a period of time and feel they are the ones that only death will do them apart, and feel that they can honestly count on each other no matter what. Married couples can either send a positive or a negative picture of the meaning of what marriage is to those whom are not married or do not know what is the meaning. In movies especially because it is more influential, for example in the movie Rosemary’s baby, the marriage between Rosemary and Guy. The older couple soon begin to be really intimate with Woodhouse, the younger couples. They forced themselves onto the couple, whom are too polite to reject them, but Guy gets seduced by them. Since the Castevets’ are members to coven, they become more intimate with the Woodhouse when the newlywed Rosemary tells the unwelcome guest that she plans and hopes to be pregnant as soon as they become more settled in. She bugs Rosemary into accepting a dinner invitation for her and Guy to join them for that evening. So they go to super at the Castvet’s, and during the conversation over dinner, they talk about the Pope's upcoming visit and pointless of the religion. Guy and Roman are left alone to do the typical men talk while the women are in the kitchen cleaning up. And this is probably when Guy comes to an agreement with the Castavets to join the coven and offer Rosemary as the new potential mother for the devils child. Guy has literally sold his soul to ‘devil’ for success and basically he sold Rosemary’s body has well without her knowing. What husband would do such
