Examples Of Love In Movies

Decent Essays
What is one thing most people have in common? One thing they’re all looking for, and searching for. Happiness, career goals, a family, or a relationship with one specific person? Love is one thing that is commonly seen as being strived for, or people spend so much time looking for, as if trying to force it. I’m not talking about just any ordinary love, I’m talking about the love you feel for one certain person that you could never feel for somebody else, not an object, or a concept, or a game. Love is seen as a noun and a verb, and we all seem to be very obsessed with this idea of it. We all see the way love is portrayed to us in the movies, and some of us might like to believe that love exists, but I do not believe that all of us get that …show more content…
As a verb it is defined as to “feel a deep romantic or sexual attatchment to someone”. There it is, that is what love is, yet is defined so simply while it is actually such an abstract idea. Does that stop your pondering and wondering about what love is? I think we view love much more abstract, because of the way it is portrayed to us, but maybe, it just simply is an abstract concept. Love is portrayed all over like in movies, books, and paintings. One thing though is that all of that is not real, they get to choose the angle at which they portray it to us, they give us what we want to see, and we like what we see, right? We like to view what they dish us out because it is seen more beautiful and desirable the way they give it, then maybe it really …show more content…
Love I think has a lot of power, it has the power to make you stronger, and for the better, and it has the power to destroy you, and cripple you. Some people may say while being in love that the other person makes them a better person, they complete them, and keep them balanced. But theirs also the types of love where they make you wonder, they pull you down with them, and make you question everything, even your worth. Both are powerful. Then theirs the after affects of it, the picking up the pieces once their gone. Some loves you can be thankful for, and happy for the time spent together, because it wasn’t neccasarily bad. It just didn’t work out. That kind of love you may not regret, and you may be thankful for all that person had to offer to you and the good times you spent together. But theirs also the loves where you lose it when they leave, because maybe that person was the only person who held you together and made you think differently about yourself. You may think that no one will ever see you and understand you the way that they did, and you may not even be able to bare the thought of ever being in love with someone else. When they leave, you might lose all motivation, you 're old interests, and might suffer a dramatic change. Love is a powerful thing, and it has so much control over you, it has the opportunity to do anything to

Granted there were good times, but being involved in a romantic relationship with someone can also be disheartening. Love is accepting and embracing each other’s differences and compromising with their offerings. That didn’t happen in my last relationship so I had to get out. I trusted him with his words, but his actions spoke louder. Love is giving someone the power to destroy you, and trusting them not to.…

Themes are universal ideas that are explored in literature. Although written in different time periods and in different styles, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, and Sue Monk Kidd’s The Secret Life of Bees share the common theme of love – love of all kinds – the love of people, the love of community, or even the love of ideas. People of all generations and people of all ages deal with the universal idea of love: finding love, the loss of love, the love of family or lack there of, forbidden love, the yearning for love.…

Many people assume that their perspective of the world, specifically about love, is that it is straightforward and simple, and that everyone gets a fairytale ending. However, that is not always the case, and usually never is. As seen in pieces like Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, and “When Love Arrives” by Sarah Kay & Phil Kaye, it shows that love is unpredictable, complex, and involves varying levels of emotion. Brave New World and “When Love Arrives” both display perspectives of love being erratic.…

Humans have always looked for the answer to finding happiness in life. For the majority of people, they believe that love will bring them this sense of happiness. In Barbara Fredrickson’s, “Selections from Love 2.0: How Our Supreme Emotion Affects Everything We Feel, Think, Do and Become,” she talks about how we see love in the wrong way and that we should start looking at love the way the body sees it. This change in perception of the definition of love allows people to have a better chance of obtaining love and having a better sense of self. With the conventional notions of love and relationships, love becomes more complex by giving people the sense of longing.…

Love is an ambiguous feeling; it is often questionable to even those experiencing it whether it does or does not exist, and yet more difficult to analyze from a third perspective. The very definition of love is subjective but at its core it is a strong attraction towards someone that you care for deeply. Shakespeare explored some themes of love in the play Hamlet, such as the relationship between Hamlet and Ophelia. Hamlet originally did have a genuine love for Ophelia but it was lost in the midst of selfishness and revenge.…

Love is defined as a feeling of attachment, or affection towards someone or something. Although this Germanic word may have its own meaning, to me it means something a little different. For example love is the way my father used to lay in the middle of mine and my sisters room holding both our hands till we fell asleep, reason being that we had nightmares. Love is late night chocolate and ranting sessions my mother and I have over a boy, life, and just to get it all out. It’s the taste of chocolate pudding my little brother makes when people aren’t feeling well, and due to him saying “that’s all I know how to make”.…
