The young girl met Romeo at the party, and immediately fell for him. She had never met him before, but she instantly decided that they were meant for each other. She tells Romeo, “You kiss by the book” (1.5.151). Juliet is literally kissing a man she just met, which is highly immature. Additionally, Romeo is at least five years older than Juliet, making him a man; however, Juliet is still just a child. Next, Juliet decides to take their relationship a step further. She says, “Thy purpose marriage, send me word to-morrow,” (2.2.184). So, not only does Juliet fall in love with a man she just met, she also decides to marry him! She had never felt deeply and truly loved by either of her parents, and so she turned to the love of a man. Juliet speaks to her alleged love, lamenting, “ parting is such sweet sorrow,” (2.2.252-253). She barely knows this young man, and yet the teenager already feels sorrowful in parting with him. This fact alone definitely displays Juliet’s sense of longing for love from someone. She is stretching to such great extents to feel wanted, that she would change her whole path in order to be with the first man she meets - Romeo. Next, Juliet is also so set on being with Romeo, that she decides she will kill herself before she is separated from him. Instead of agreeing that the forbidden relationship would never work, Juliet decides to resort to suicide. After seeing that her one true love is dead, Juliet cries, “O happy dagger!/This is thy sheath;/there rust, and let me die” (5.3.210-212). So, the young woman has killed herself, because her husband (whom she has known for about three days) died. This is an extremely illogical decision, that Juliet made in a frenzied attempt to fix what had been broken - her relationship. If she wasn’t alive, she would no longer have to feel the pain of Romeo’s death, constantly nagging her. This decision was extremely ill-advised, and highly rushed. Juliet never thought about the consequences of her death, both for herself and others. She was so
