The Black Cat is a story of where the narrator experiences many internal conflicts were found. The man was struggling with being an angry drunk, abusive, and just being crazy in general. One example is when the man had started to drink constantly. The drinking affected him because he started to abuse his animals and his wife, but he did not feel guilty about hurting them. Another example of internal struggle in The Black Cat is when he hung his cat because he did not want to look at it and see what he had done to the animal. He took the cat outside and hung him.
