His parents where able to give him food and shelter and clothes but he wanted to be able to buy them more then what they gave him. So he went out to better his family and his life. He was making so much more money in America then his parents where back in Mexico. So he was changing the intergenerational mobility in his family. He wanted his family to get out of being poor and actually start bettering their life’s. While the other was living life as a regular kid and set his life just as his parents. They come from different backgrounds and different cultures which can impact a lot on decisions they have made. Such as one of them seeking an American dream in where in his culture working hard was always a factor. Working ten plus hours daily was something normal for him and he knew the more he worked the more money he would receive. He knew he had to work hard to get where he is today. A culture where family is the most important thing and sometimes you had to work all day to keep they happy and so they can live happy. He always worked more then 60 hours a week and he did it so his wife and kids were able to buy their wants and live happy. While here in the U.S. people are happy with working forty hours a week and are able to live comfortable with that. Back in Mexico you couldn’t live off of forty hours a week. Here in America you have insurance and retirement plans and benefits for the whole family. Back in Mexico the only thing you had was your money to cover all expenses. So the culture does make a big difference because its something you are usually born with. That affects a lot of your decisions on how or if you need to improve in
