Is integrity displayed through social media? Integrity is the quality of being proven to be trustworthy and having upright morals. Integrity is one who has strong morals and principles; one who can be trusted and reliable upon. The concept of integrity can be applied through social media in many ways, such as positive and negative. Social media is the collective of online communications channels whose purpose is to provide a community-based input, interaction, content-sharing and collaboration. Social media has a huge impact on society. Society relies on social media for so many things like the news, entertainment, and information. The concept of integrity can be applied through social media in many ways, such as positive and negative. The negative often out ways the positive when it comes to social media, social media is often displayed in a negative way. People have become so depended on social media for everything. Society has this idea that they have to live up to social media. “Most fundamentally perhaps, it is because communications has a very ambiguous character in respect of the claims of “society” or, those made on behalf of the “public interest” (McQuil2). Society often feels they need to meet the requirement of “public interest” and with doing that they often lack integrity. Integrity is the quality of being proven to be trustworthy and having morals. In the world today, society lack morals. Social media lacks morals. The internet, such as social media websites, often causes ones to become more close minded to reality. Integrity is not shown through social media. “Social networking can make people more media literate, but ultimately the real challenge is the need for someone to vent the information” (O’Connor172). If one is not careful about what they post they often bring harm to themselves. Reveling personal information on social networks can often make a user vulnerable to crimes such as identity theft, stalking, and etc. Many employers perform a background check through the internet before hiring an employee. If a future employee has posted anything that might be embarrassing or negative on social media it can affect their chances of getting a
