Before Noah knew what was happening, he hit the cold, hard, ground. “Oof!” He exclaimed. Noah opened his eyes, and saw Jesse standing over him. “Girl!” Jesse spat. Jesse pushed Noah down once more, and walked away, his followers behind him. How does a boy like that have followers? Noah thought, laying his back down flat on the pavement. After Jesse was out of sight, Noah brushed his blond hair off of his brown eyes, stood up, and walked away. Jesse, being captain of the football team, was very popular. And good at football. In fact, Jesse had stayed back two whole years, purposefully, just to stay on the football team!

All day, Noah had anxiety, nervous about this one moment in the day. Now, it was time. Time to be rejected from the football team by Jesse. When the bell rang, Noah ran to the locker room, got changed as quickly as possible, and went out to the football field. “Ok, people! Football tryouts!” The tryouts went on for only an hour, but when they were done, Noah was sweating like it was 102° Celsius on a summer California day! “Ok, boys!” Announced Jesse when they were finished. “Go hit the showers, get changed, and come right back on out here!” Noah ran into the locker room, took a quick shower, put on some fresh clothes, and sprinted back outside. He was shaking. He was so nervous he could fall over. At first, Noah had just wanted to be defiant, but now, he really wanted to be on the football team. Now, all that was blocking him from that was Jesse. Now, Noah was just waiting to get shot down. Seconds later, Jesse came out with the sheet that had the boys’ names on it that would be on the team. “Alright!” Jesse said excitedly. “Here are the names of the newbies on the football team.” Jesse announced the boys’ names quickly. “Ok! This is the last boy on the team.” said Jesse. “Sorry to those of you who didn’t make it, but I guess you’re just not good enough.” Jesse added very …show more content…
“Ok. I don’t actually have a driver’s license.” Jesse said this calmly. “What!” Exclaimed Noah. “No details allowed,” said Jesse. “Just secrets.” “Ok, then. My secret is…” Noah told Jesse his secret. We will learn Noah’s secret at a later time, but for now, we must have patience. After dinner, Noah went home. It turned out he didn’t live that far away! When Noah woke up, he was excited to go to school for once! Thinking Jesse was his friend, he thought, I might get to hang out with Jesse and his crew! He could picture it in his head. The cool guys, featuring Noah Goodwin! That would be great!
Noah walked into the school as the morning announcements came on.
Crackle, Crackle. “ Hello students! This is Jesse with an important announcement! Noah Goodwin thinks he’s… a girl!” Noah froze in the doorway. The whole school was laughing! He wished he could disappear! How could Jesse do this to me! Noah thought angrily, his face turning tomato red. I thought we were friends!
Later that day, Jesse approached Noah. “Get away!” Exclaimed Noah before Jesse even said anything. “I hate you! I quit!” “Quit what?” Asked Jesse with a smirk. “Life? You can’t do that, idiot!” Jesse
