The purpose of this book is to support parents in a few ways, 1) through information, 2) reduce parental fears, and 3) empower parents to continue to be a voice and advocate for their child(ren). As an educator and a parent whose child has been assessed as having a disability, it’s important to keep the lines of information flowing between parents and all those who will support children with an IEP. I want to give light to the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process which is a written document created for state-funded school age child whose been identified as having a disability. Moreover, give a voice to other parents on how parent’s participation is the added-value needed within any IEP meeting. The Team
