“Are people born wicked? Or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?” Or do they choose it? In Shakespeare’s play The Tragedy of Othello: The Moor of Venice, Iago is known as the “honest friend”. But behind all that he is hatching a plot to betray his general Othello. He seems to be a daring rogue but gains stature as a dastardly villain. Iago’s behavior changed from showing hatred in the beginning of the play to becoming hatred by the end of the play.
