In The Fall of the House of Usher Roderick was afraid of almost everything and everything in his household, a noise a little movement anything scared him.Although he was scared of the thought of him dying, he knew he was going to die “ I shall perish” he also says “ I must perish in the deplorable folly” (Poe 18). He tried to avoid death by fearing everything, instead it made him worse he started to go crazy as the story progresses. He reaches the point where he knew death was near and he wanted to die, even the narrator knew it “ he sprang up furiously on his feet , and shrieked out his syllables, as if in the effort he were giving up his soul” (Poe 30). At this point he knew he was dying and wanted to he still feared it but there was nothing he could possibly do, he accepted the fate of his and his family just like in “House taken Over”. Rodrick did end up dying, in that it clearly shows the acceptance of his strange death; this is what made the story
