Déjà vu is a really good movie that illustrates sacrifice, and courage as well as heroism. As the movie progresses viewers can start to see the evolvement of the supporting characters around Doug Carlin. Doug Carlin is a ATF agent fulfilling his destiny by saving lives and making a difference. He’s really good at what he does, but he becomes attached to a victim in this particular case. Doug is brought in to provide assistance in the investigation, and unexpectedly becomes attached to an experimental FBI surveillance unit, that uses never before seen technology to look back a little over four days in the past. Doug and the surveillance unit use this piece of technology to attempt to catch the bomber. Doug gains an idea in his head. He begins to wonder if they could use the device to travel back in time, and not only prevent the bombing, but also the murderer of Claire whose truck was used in the bombing. Claire is also someone whom Doug has become quite fond of. …show more content…
Once Doug sees her body at the morg he’s able to see her innocence which the viewer can infer is a primry reason why he is attached to this young womans case. Doug knows she’s probably the last person in new Orleans to deserve what happened to her that’s why at the end of the movie Doug won’t leave her case alone even after he received the confession from oerstadt. This provokes the sacrafical trait Doug poesses when he has to go back in time. To save Claire from dying he does this knowing that he’s going to die which shows the audience members how seldless Doug truly
