Examples Of Health Forecasting

I have been in the healthcare arena for more than fifteen years and our text defined, forecasting as “analyzing past revenue and/or cost trends and behavior as well as gather permanent information from sources throughout an organization about any changes in operations and production” (Edinburgh 2011). Health forecasting is very similar, it evaluates or predicts the future in health science conditions. This information is needed to provide aid in facilitating preventive medicine as well as analyze other health care interventions and policies. There are several agencies nationally and globally who assist in obtaining this information and their job is to advise health service providers/officials on how to take appropriate modifying actions to diminish risks and manage any conditions as they develop. My office analyzed, investigated and track patients’ medical procedures and services they received from our providers at our facility. While during this research I was also able to gather information for our local health department on medical health issues and mortalities. It was a very stressful job but also very rewarding; knowing that the information I provided could save lives and help in aiding the community for new medical personnel specializing in specific areas.
