Harsh Reality of Discrimination Discrimination is real. You may not see discrimination daily or if you're lucky you may never have to encounter it. But that is not the case for many Muslim Americans. Discrimination might actually just be the biggest issue in their life. Being Muslim affects them too much and too often. After 9/11 islamophobia hit its peak, many jobs were lost and business were shut down. Also it seems women get discriminated more not only because women are seen less of person in most societies but because they were their hijab, which is part of their religion.Which they do have their rights for like any other world wide know religion. Even if that means wearing different types of clothing just because the rest of the religions might not be used to that it doesn't mean they can treat them differently. The 1st and 14th amendment protect and give them the right to beliefs and encourage their beliefs. They are not doing anything wrong. All the other religions do it so why can't they? Recently in the 2016 presidential elections, Donald Trump one of the candidates want to enforce a law that would ban Muslims or anyone from the middle east to enter the United States for “cautionary” reasons.It could undertsandleto some since there haven been recent bombing from a pair of mifdler easters. But over all it is not fair and inhumane. It is mass discrimination, when it is not their fault and they are not all the same. Just because they share them ethnicity does not make them the same. That goes for all “races”. No public figure has yet to make a big statement helping muslims. It is in fact going the opposite way. As one of the fox news hosts, Bill o’Reilly, called Islam “a destructive force in the world” (Bill o’Reilly). Main stream media is often condoning Islamophobia and siding with it. After a shooting by a Islam follower the media set the title out to be “Murder Mission” then after finding out who the shooter had been it was quickly changed to “muslim killer”. But you will most likely never see a title being “christian killers”. The number of hate crimes has been decreasing according to the FBI but the number of muslim hate crimes is increasing.
