The Crucible by Arthur Miller is about people in Salem being accused of witchcraft. Abigail works for Elizabeth and John Proctor. Then, Elizabeth fires Abigail because of Abigail displeasing her and her husband. Later on, Abigail, accuses Elizabeth Proctor, John Proctor’s wife, of being a witch so she can be with John Proctor. The play explores the theme that people who claim to be motivated by principles may actually be motivated by greed or revenge, which still applies in modern day society.
