. a) Discuss with suitable examples any FIVE (5) ways to increase your self-esteem and to reach your potentials in college.

Firstly, identify your own weakness, either fear of talking/meeting new friends, feeling home sick, just embrace the changes as it allows us to adapt to new environment, as you will feel more comfortable overtime in a current environment. Other than that, set some realistic goals, like get top 5 in class, or score well on a certain subject, goals are what drives us to achieve something that we truly want or need. Other ways like meet new friends, as you’re not alone, socializing improves your communication skills, and with friends benefiting on working together on homework problem solving. Besides, “Practice makes perfect”, it implies us that what we achieve might not be the results we want, but never look down, or be negative about it and never ever give up, learning is the process of development. Instead, if you’re doing it wrong, you can ask someone who have experience or are a profession on that subject or task to help

As a result, for each task, set a deadline that will be difficult to meet and strive to meet that deadline. For example, you can set a goal with a reward base system, achieving your goal get to receive the reward, hold the reward back for the next goal. Secondly, make a schedule, it set time period on each of our activities, like eat, sleep, and play. It gives us more control on our daily routines and remind ourselves to the limited time we have. Thirdly, while doing your own revisions, do take at 5-15mins break every 2/3hours or so, walk around and think back what you have learn for the past few hours of revision.
