In the play Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare makes many arguments through the words choices of figurative language to argue his claim that Juliet is the most beautiful person in the whole world.

First of all, in the text of “Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope,” the author developed the argument by comparing the two so that you can make a opinion. In other words, he is using the type of figurative language called a simile. In this simile he compares the Ethiop’s jewel to Juliet’s beauty. The argument made here is that if the jewel is beautiful, then Juliet is beautiful like it.

Secondly, the author uses an hyperbole to make the argument. When he says, “Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear.” He is exaggerating his thoughts that she
