Soaked jungle trees completely surround me and pouring rain beats away at every inch of my body, like I am enclosed in the belly of a tsunami. The EFO paper, Developing a Risk Reduction Plan for the Wildland Urban Interface in Asheville, North Carolina, by Joy Michelle Ponder is a well-researched and presented paper. The author does a good job in identifying the community fire risk of wildland fires in the urban interface. Given the limited time frame and the amount of data collection and research necessary to complete the assignment, the author was very thorough and descriptive. She gathered information from a wide variety of subject matter experts from different agencies, submitted surveys for additional feedback from all levels of the fire service organization, and obtained information from California Department of Forestry. Wildland fires are very dynamic and challenging to fight.…

Priene: Greek Life Exemplified By Kristin Lee Priene was an ancient Greek city situated in the Ionia region of modern Turkey. The city, and what remains of it today, rests near the base of Mount Mycale overlooking the Maeander river. Although it was a relatively small city with an estimated population of 4,000 to 5,000, Priene featured several noteworthy architectural structures including a temple of Athena Polias, an agora, a theater, a stadium and gymnasium, as well as other religious, political, and residential buildings. Priene also serves as an exemplary model of Greek urban planning; the city is laid out in a rectangular grid, defying the naturally hilly topography of the region, with 6 primary streets and 15 cross streets.…
