When Victor first constructed his creation, he found limbs and other body parts the he perceived would make the creation a beautiful being. Ignorance blinds victor until his creation first opens its eyes, “the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart”(55). This horror that Victor endures causes him to flee from the creature and begins the father-son conflict. The creation is deserted and is left to fend for itself. The creation confronts Victor, claiming that Victor is the cause for the creation’s wretched life, “I was a poor, miserable wretch; I knew, and could distinguish nothing; but feeling pain invade me on all sides, I sat down and wept”(101). As the creature ventured through the lands, he encountered other humans that were frightened at his appearance. He was rejected not only by his father, but by all mankind as well. As Victor's creation neared the town Victor lived in, Geneva, it ran into Victor’s younger brother, William. Frightened by the creature’s appearance, William warns the creature to back away or he’d have his father, Alphonse Frankenstein, force the creature to leave.
